Journal
Editorial board
Klaus Mönkemüller is editor-in-chief. Additional board seats are open. We will not present this as a seated board until at least five named editors with affiliations are listed here.
Editor-in-Chief
Klaus Mönkemüller, MD, PhD, FASGE, FJGES, FESGE
Professor of Medicine, Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine
Practicing endoscopist, Carilion Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia
The editor-in-chief assigns reviewers, makes accept / revise / reject decisions on journal-track manuscripts, and does not control acceptance of articles on which he is an author. Those manuscripts are handled by another editor once the board is seated.
He has spoken or consulted for endoscopy device manufacturers in his clinical career. Named manufacturer lists are not published on this site. Those relationships are considered when a submission involves a related device, and he recuses from journal-track decisions when the relationship is material.
Board seats
Target: at least five editors besides the editor-in-chief, from more than one institution and more than one country, in GI endoscopy or a closely related field (pathology, surgery, radiology).
Each listed editor will show name, credentials, role, affiliation, and a conflict-of-interest statement.
Current named editors besides the EIC: none. This page will be updated when people accept.
Independence
EndoCollab publishes the journal and does not decide which journal-track articles are accepted. We take no third-party advertising, industry sponsorship, or paid placement. EndoCollab memberships, courses, books, and DigestiveJobs may be mentioned as owned products. That is not peer-reviewed content.
Recusal
An editor who is an author, recent collaborator, or has a financial relationship with a device discussed in the manuscript recuses from that decision. Reviewers with the same conflicts are not invited.
