Journal
Policies
These terms apply to journal-track articles. Teaching-archive cases follow the editorial standards and the medical disclaimer.
Open access, copyright, and license
Journal-track articles are free to read on this site. Authors keep copyright. They grant EndoCollab a license to publish the article and apply CC BY-NC 4.0: share and adapt with attribution, no commercial reuse without permission.
There is no submission fee and no article processing charge.
Conflicts of interest and funding
Authors, editors, and reviewers disclose financial and non-financial relationships that a reasonable reader would want to know, including device and pharma ties in the last 36 months. If none, the article says so. Funding sources, including none, are stated on the article.
Consent, anonymization, and human subjects
See author guidelines for the consent and IRB rules. Images must not include names, faces, dates of birth, medical record numbers, or hospital logos. Rare diseases plus unusual demographics are treated as identifiable.
AI use and plagiarism
Authors must say if generative AI drafted text, translated, suggested references, or edited images. AI tools are not authors. Fabricated citations or copied text without attribution are grounds for reject or retraction. We may screen manuscripts when a concern is raised.
Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions
Typographical errors (spelling, broken links, image crop) are fixed on the page. The machine timestamp updates.
Substantive corrections (wrong diagnosis, unsafe step, mis-cited paper) get a dated editor note on the article. We email the corresponding author.
Expression of concern is posted when validity is in doubt and the investigation is not finished.
Retraction is used for unreliable findings, undisclosed major COI, duplicate publication, or unethical image use. The article stays online, marked retracted, with the reason. Withdrawal before publication is allowed at the editor's discretion.
Report a problem to [email protected]. We respond within seven days.
Advertising
No third-party ads, sponsored articles, or paid placement. Mentions of EndoCollab products are labeled as owned resources.
Preservation
The site is openly crawlable. We submit the journal homepage, policy pages, and each new journal-track article to the Internet Archive after publication. Teaching-archive URLs may also be captured. CLOCKSS or LOCKSS is not in use yet.
Complaints
Editorial complaints go to [email protected]. If the complaint is about the editor-in-chief, it is read by the publisher contact at the same address and, once seated, by another board member.
