Douglas J. Grider, MD, is Vice Chair of the Department of Basic Science Education and an Associate Professor at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, and President and Managing Partner of Dominion Pathology Associates in Roanoke, Virginia. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed fellowships in gastrointestinal pathology and dermatopathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. After a 24-year Air Force career, he joined Dominion Pathology Associates in 2010. He is the gastroenterology and hepatic pathology site director for the Carilion Clinic / Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship. His interests include gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology, dermatopathology, inflammatory bowel disease, and cutaneous manifestations of internal disease.
